IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton fell to UC Irvine in its final game of the season by a final score of 4-2 Sunday afternoon at Anteater Ballpark.

Fullerton battled all the way until the final out as Titans do, scoring two runs in the top of the ninth inning as a last effort to make a comeback. Isaiah Garcia and Brendon Bobo led-off the inning with back-to-back singles before Deylan Pigford was hit by a pitch and Austin Schell drew a walk to give the Titans a run.

Jason Brandow then came into the game to pinch hit and hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-2 game with two outs. However, that's all the Titans could do with the base runners before the final out of the game.

Garcia wrapped up his final collegiate game on a high note, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run. Bobo went 2-for-4 on the day with a run.

Kyle Luckham pitched 5.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out a tied for season-high six batters. Peter Van Loon gave UCI eight shutout innings while giving up seven hits and striking out nine to earn the win.

The Titans wrap up the season with a record of 20-35 and 13-23 in Big West Conference play.
