Baseball Drops Final Game of Series to UCSD

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (19-24, 12-12) dropped the fourth and final game of the series against UC San Diego (15-25, 12-16) Sunday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.

Wyatt Johnson made his second career start and gave the Titans a great outing, pitching four shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three batters. 

Nate Nankil drove in Fullerton's only run of the game in the sixth inning on a single to left field to bring home Josh Urps. Nankil has 11 RBI on the year. 

Brandon Weed earned the win for UCSD after going seven innings and giving up one earned run on seven hits while striking out nine. Weed is now 2-2 this season.

The Titans hit the road for a four-game Big West Conference series next weekend against Cal Poly beginning Friday at 5:00 p.m. PT.
