Titans Drop Game One Against CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton dropped the opening game of the series to CSUN by a final score of 11-1 Friday afternoon at Matador Field. 

Deylan Pigford drove in the Titans only run with a double in the top of the eighth to score JJ Cruz. Pigfor now has a team-high nine doubles this season.

Tanner Bibee drew the loss, moving to 5-4 this season. Bibee gave up six runs (three earned) on four hits in three innings of work. 

Blake Sodersten earned the win for CSUN after pitching eight innings and allowing one run on three hits. Sodersten is now 1-1 this season.

Peyton Jones pitched two innings of relief, giving up one run on two hits while striking out two. Gavin Kennedy made his collegiate debut and pitched two innings, allowing one run on four hits. 

The Titans look to bounce back Saturday against the Matadors as they play a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m. PT.
