FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton came through with key runs late in the game to take down San Diego 3-1 Friday night at Goodwin Field. 

With Fullerton (10-13) and San Diego (18-5) tied in the eighth inning, Zach Lew stepped to the plate with two outs and ripped a triple to the gap in right center, scoring two runs and putting the Titans up 3-1. Lew's clutch triple drove in Caden Connor and Isaiah Garcia to break the tie. 

Lew went 2-for-5 on the night with two RBI and a run. The right-handed hitter has been on fire lately, he is now hitting .261 with 11 RBI, 11 walks and seven extra base hits. 

Tanner Bibee tossed another gem for the Titans, going seven innings while allowing just one run on four hits. The junior didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning then didn't allow another one until the seventh. Bibee struck out three batters and didn't allow a single walk. 

In 46 innings pitched, the righty has 35 strikeouts to just seven walks. After another strong outing, Bibee has a 2.74 ERA and is 3-3 after not getting the decision Friday night.

Bibee shut down San Diego until the seventh inning when they tied the game at 1-1 on a single by Paul Kunst to score Jack Costello. 

The Titans head to San Diego Saturday night for a matchup with the Toreros at Fowler Park at 5:00 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
