Caden Connor really wanted to show what he could do for the Cal State Fullerton baseball team in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic shut down the season before Big West Conference play began. That meant he was stuck with a .143 batting average for the nine games (of 16) in which he played.

"Last year left kind of a sour taste in my mouth because it was my first year at Fullerton and I was trying to prove myself," the Orange Lutheran High graduate said.

He's doing that now. As an outfielder/first baseman for the Titans, he leads the regulars with 25 hits, a .373 batting average and a .427 on-base percentage. He's also tied with Jason Brandow for the team lead with 13 RBIs.

During a four-game series against UC Riverside this past weekend – in which the Titans won three of four – Connor went 11 for 22 (.500) with six RBIs batting leadoff or in the second spot. In one of the games, he was 5 for 7 with four RBIs.
