PHOENIX –  The Titans battled Arizona State tough all game but ultimately came up short, losing game two of the series 6-4 Saturday afternoon at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Fullerton (4-9) took the lead in the top of the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Omar Veloz, his first of the season. Veloz had a great game for the Titans, going 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, a run and a home run.

One batter later, Josh Urps went deep to left field to give the Titans a 3-0 lead. It's the second time this season the Titans have hit back-to-back home runs in a game.

Arizona State (9-2) came back in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run home run of its own to narrow the Titans lead to 3-2 heading into the fifth inning.

The Titans responded in the sixth inning with another home run, this time a solo shot from Austin Schell, his second of the season. It is the first time since May of 2019 the Titans have hit three or more home runs in a game.

The Sun Devils went on to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the lead before extending the lead in the eighth on a solo home run.

Kyle Luckham drew the loss for Fullerton after going six innings, allowing seven hits and five earned runs. Graham Osman earned the win for Arizona State, improving to 1-1 on the season. Ethan Long picked up his fourth save of the year for the Sun Devils.

Cal State Fullerton and Arizona State will meet for the third and final game of the series Sunday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 12:35 p.m. PT.
