LOS ANGELES – On his 22nd birthday, Tanner Bibee pitched a complete game shutout to defeat USC Friday night at Goodwin Field 5-0.

The junior righty was just about perfect against the Trojans, allowing just three hits while only throwing 88 pitches. Bibee struck out five batters while not giving up a single walk.

Bibee is the first Titans pitcher to have a complete game shutouts since Andrew Quezada against UC Davis in May of 2018.

Jackson Lyon hit his first career home run in the top of the fifth inning to give the Titans a 1-0 lead. Lyon had a great game Friday night, going 3-for-3 with one run, two RBI and a walk. The sophomore is hitting .318 on the year with a .400 OBP and .575 slugging percentage.

Freshman Nate Nankil was clutch for the Titans with runners in scoring position. Nankil drove in one run in the sixth and two in the eighth on a single down the left field line to give the Titans a 5-0 lead. Nankil now has a team-high seven RBI this season. Lyon and Nankil drove in all five of Fullerton's runs.

The Titans are set for a rematch with No. 8 UCLA Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium at 2:00 p.m. PT. Fullerton wraps up the weekend Sunday against Pepperdine at Goodwin Field with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. PT.
