FULLERTON, Calif. - Head Coach Rick Vanderhook unveiled Cal State Fullerton's 2021 schedule Wednesday as the team looks to get back to dominance in the Big West Conference.
The Titans will play 14 nonconference games and a total of 40 Big West games throughout the season. With the schedule being shortened, each conference series will be four games. Fullerton starts off the season with 11 nonconference games before getting into Big West play.
Fullerton begins the year on the road against San Diego with a three-game series beginning on Feb. 26. The Titans will face the likes of Arizona State, California Baptist, Pepperdine, UCLA and USC throughout the nonconference slate. The first home game of the year at Goodwin Field will be on Mar. 9 against Pepperdine.
Top-ranked Big West opponent, UC Santa Barbara, will be the Titans first conference series of the year as the Gauchos come to Fullerton on Mar. 19.
Tanner Bibee and Zach Lew headline the returning group, looking to pick up right where they left off in 2020. Bibee led the pitching staff with a 2.73 ERA and 10.01 strikeouts per nine innings. Lew had an unbelievable start to the season in 2020, batting .339 with nine RBI and nine walks.
