FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans fell to Arizona State in the second game of midweek series by a final score of 9-3 Wednesday night at Goodwin Field.

The Sun Devils started the scoring first after Drew Swift led the second inning off with a double. He came around to score on a Gage Workman grounder to first.

Cal State Fullerton continued their early inning success after scoring two runs in the second inning to go ahead 2-1 in the game.  In Trevor Cadd's first career at-bat, he smacked a single to left center on the first pitch he saw. He advanced to second base on a wild pitch and Josh Urps drew a walk to put two runners on board.

Kameron Guangorena stroked a base hit to right field to bring in Cadd to score to tie the game at 1-1. Guangorena and Urps both advanced on a wild pitch before Jackson Lyon brought in Urps on a sacrifice fly to center field to give the Titans a 2-1 lead.

The Titans added another run in the eighth inning after Trevor Cadd smacked a triple to right center with one out in the inning. Austin Schell had an infield single off the pitcher to bring in Cadd to make it an 8-3 game.

Cadd was the only Titan with a multi-hit game for the Titans as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Cadd nearly hit a home run in his second at-bat but was robbed on a straight shot to center field.

The Sun Devils scored seven runs to pull away from the Titans starting in the fourth inning. The Sun Devils scored two runs in the fourth, three runs in the fifth, and a run in each of the final three innings.

Drew Swift led the Sun Devil offense after going 4-for-5 from the dish with two runs and two RBIs. Alika Williams, Trevor Hauver, Hunter Jump, and Gage Workman each had two hits. Spencer Torkelson was 0-for-4 for the evening with one walk.

The Titans utilized an all-staff pitching night for the game. Freshman Cameron Repetti got the start and threw two innings and allowed one run on two hits, zero walks, and struck out one batter. Peyton Jones, Michael Knorr, Dillon Brown, Brady Barcellos, and Matthew Sanchez each pitched in the game for the Titans.

After a long homestand at Goodwin Field the Titans now hit the road as they travel to Texas to take on the Longhorns beginning Friday night.
