Fullerton Falls to USC at Goodwin Field

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball (3-5) fell to USC (5-2) by a final score of 7-1 Tuesday night at Goodwin Field. 

USC scored four runs on five hits in the first inning to get off to a fast start. The Trojans then scored one run a piece in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. 

Ben Wanger led USC offensively going 4-for-4 with three RBI. Rhylan Thomas, Clay Owens and Tyler Lozano also recorded RBI in the game. Brian Gursky picked up the win for the Trojans to move to 1-0 this season. 

Michael Knorr recorded the loss for Fullerton, his first of the season to move to 0-1. Zach Lew once again had a great night offensively, going 2-for-4 with the team's only RBI to go along with a walk. Jackson Lyon also had a strong game at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with a walk. 

Fullerton returns to Goodwin Field for a three-game series against San Francisco beginning Friday night at 7:00 p.m. PT
