FULLERTON, Calif. – For the first time since 2013, Cal State Fullerton swept the six-game season series against Long Beach State with the 6-1 victory Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Field.
The Titans scored six runs in all three games of the series, out-scoring the Dirtbags 18-3. With the win Fullerton ties its season-high for longest win streak at three games.
Prior to the game the Titans recognized five seniors on the team and each delivered in their final at Goodwin Field. Gavin Velasquez got the start on the mound and went six innings, giving up six hits and just one run while striking out a season-high five batters on his way to recording his second win of the season (2-0).
Mitchell Berryhill had a Berryhill-esque day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs. Fellow senior Hank LoForte recorded his 17th career triple which ranks second all-time in the history of the program for most triples in a career. Jordan Hernandez broke the game open for the Titans in the bottom of the fourth inning on a base clearing double to record a career-high three RBI.

Zach Lew hit a double down the left field line to start the fourth inning and get the Titans on the board. The freshman had a great series against Long Beach, going 5-for-9 at the plate with an RBI in each game and four runs.

The Titans hit the road next weekend for their final series of the 2019 season beginning Thursday afternoon at CSUN.
