FULLERTON, Calif. – With the game tied heading into the third inning, Cal State Fullerton exploded to score five runs in the bottom of the third to seize control of the game as they went on to win 11-3 Tuesday night at Goodwin Field.

AJ Curtis had a great game for the Titans, going 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs and a career-high three RBI, including two on a double down the left field line in the third inning that gave Fullerton the lead that they would not relinquish.

Jairus Richards continued his strong play for Fullerton as he went 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and one run. Richards followed up Curtis' two RBI double with a two RBI single to give the Titans a comfortable lead in the third. Richards is now second on the team with an impressive .338 batting average.

Mitchell Berryhill still leads the team with a .427 batting average after he went 1-for-2 with one walk and a hit by pitch to go along with two runs on the night. Berryhill has an outstanding .505 on-base percentage through 44 games.

Jason Brandow was responsible for the fifth run of the third inning as he drove in Richards on a fielder's choice. Brandow did not record a hit but had two walks and two RBI on the night. Fellow freshman Zach Lew returned to his mid-season form, hitting 2-for-4 with one walk and one RBI.

The Titans bullpen once again played a key role, using three pitchers to finish the final seven innings. Michael Knorr pitched three innings of relief and gave up just two hits while striking out three batters. Knorr picked up the victory to move to 4-4 on the season.

Titus Groeneweg come on in relief of Knorr in the sixth inning and pitched three innings, allowing three hits and one earned run before Joe Magrisi come in to get the final three outs in the ninth inning, striking out two batters and giving up just one hit in his one inning of work.
