FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (14-17) dropped the second game of the three-game nonconference series to San Diego State (21-14) by a final score of 13-7 Saturday night at Goodwin Field.

The Titan fell behind early, giving up three runs in the first and six runs in the third inning, however, the team made a valiant effort at a comeback as they scored three runs in the fourth inning on a home run from Jairus Richards

Richards had an impressive day at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with two walks, one run and four RBI including three on his first career Division I home run. With his four RBI, Richards also ties a career-high from last season when he had four against Arizona State.

Freshman catcher Kameron Guangorena had his most complete game as a Titan, batting a perfect 4-for-4 with one walk, one RBI and a career-high three runs. Guangorena also set a career-high for most hits in a game with four.

Timothy Josten had another strong outing out of the bullpen in long relief for the Titans. Josten went 5.2 innings and give up six hits, however, bad bounces and plays that were no fault of his own led to the Aztecs scoring six runs. Evan Larsen finished the final 1.1 innings and gave up just one hit.

San Diego State used four different pitchers Saturday night while Brian Leonhardt earned the win, his first of the season, after pitching 2.1 innings, giving up one hit and two earned runs.
