SAN DIEGO – The Titans put together another strong offensive performance, while Mitchell Berryhill recorded his second consecutive three-hit game, but it wasn't enough, as the Fullerton fell 9-6 to San Diego State in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

Berryhill was a force offensively on the weekend, as he went 8-of-12 from the plate for a .667 average with three RBI and two triples. On the day, Berryhill went 3-for-5 from the plate with a run scored, a run driven in and a triple.

Hank LoForte capped off a fantastic weekend, with a 2-for-5 game at the plate with a run scored. Overall he went 8-of-16 from the dish (.500) with a triple and three RBI for the series.

Ruben Cardenas was also effective at the plate, collecting two hits, scoring a run and driving one in. Chris Prescott came through with his second home run of the season, as he scored a run and drove three in. Jace Chamberlin picked up a pinch hit single and a walk, while driving in one.

Jairus Richards also collected a hit.

Dillon Brown, Landon Anderson, Jimmy Endersby and Erik Cha combined to pitch 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball in relief. Starter Andrew Quezada took the loss.

The Aztecs produced another quick start, tacking on two runs in the first and one in the second to build an early 3-0 lead.

However, the Titans responded with two of their own in the top of the third, as LoForte reached one a one-out throwing error, before Berryhill belted a triple to left center to score LoForte from first base.

Cardenas then grounded out to second base, but it was good enough to score Berryhill from third, making it just a 3-2 deficit.

San Diego State kept the pressure on in the bottom half of the third, exploding for six runs to take a commanding 9-2 advantage. The six runs given up in the third is the most an opponent has scored in a single innings against the Titans this season.

However, the Titans never quit, as they fought back with three runs in the fourth off of just one hit to cut the deficit to 9-5. The lone knock, happened to be a one-out three-run Prescott bomb to over the right field fence after Sahid Valenzuela led off the inning with a walk and Pavletich was plunked by a pitch for the third straight at bat.

Fullerton continued to chip away in the fifth, as Berryhill led off the frame with a single up the middle. Cardenas then reached on a fielder's choice and stole second for his team-leading seventh stolen bag of the year. Cope then worked a walk and Pavletich reached on a dropped third strike to load them up. Chamberlin then put together a great pinch hit at bat to draw the bases loaded walk to force in a run and make it just a 9-6 deficit.

Unfortunately that's as close as Fullerton would get in this one.

Titans will travel back to San Diego on Tuesday to take on San Diego at 6 pm PT.
