SANTA BARBARA – Andrew Quezada took Fullerton the distance and put together his best start of the season, but the offense couldn't quite muster up enough, as UC Santa Barbara managed to hang on to a 2-1 victory, Sunday afternoon at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

Quezada was magnificent, as he tossed a career-high 8.0 innings, surrendered just two runs off of four hits and struck out two on the day. He took the tough-luck loss after having a no-hitter going through 4.2 innings.

Jace Chamberlin was the lone Titan to record multiple hits, going 2-for-5 from the dish for his third multi-hit performance of the season.

Jacob Pavletich recorded a double and scored the lone run of the day for Fullerton. Hank LoForte and Ruben Cardenas each picked up hits, while Mitchell Berryhill and Tyler Lasch contributed with walks.

The Gauchos struck for two runs in the top of the sixth to open the scoring.

However with the Titans trailing 2-0 the eighth, Fullerton refused to give up, as Pavletich began the frame with a double ripped down the left field line. Berryhill then nearly beat out a bunt a batter later, but was called out at first by just hair. With Pavletich standing at third, Brett Borgogno came up with the lone RBI of the day for the Titans, as he grounded one to third, allowing the run to score from third.

Lasch came in to pinch hit with two outs and worked a walk. Cody Minnis made his Titan debut, coming in to pinch run for Lasch. He eventually would end up at second base after a LoForte base hit, but he'd get no further than that.

The Titans once again got the tying run on base in the ninth, but couldn't score him

Fullerton will conclude its five-game road swing at Arizona State. The Titans will take on the Sun Devils at 6:35 pm PT, both Tuesday and Wednesday. Both contests will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
