CORVALLIS, Ore. – Cal State Fullerton battled from four runs down to tie things up in the sixth, but No. 2 Oregon State had just enough to sneak past the Titans, Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium.

Chris Prescott led the way for the Titans, blasting his first career homer, a three-run jack in the sixth to tie things up at 4-4. Overall he went 2-for -4 from the dish with a career-best three RBI and a run scored. Tyler Lasch notched his second career two-hit game, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI.

Daniel Cope also picked up two hits with a run scored to record his fifth multi-hit performance of the season. Jake Pavletich also racked up a knock while Sahid Valenzuela also recorded one.

Andrew Quezada got the start on the mound for the Titans, and went 4.2 innings, surrendered eight hits, but just two earned runs and stuck out three.

Oregon State (14-1) struck for three in the bottom of the second to put the Titans in an early 3-0 hole. The Beavers also tacked on a run in the bottom of the fifth to grab their biggest lead of the contest at 4-0.

However, this thing was far from over, as the Titans once again put together some two-out magic. Ruben Cardenas got the rally started, as he was plunked with a pitch. Lasch then entered the game as a pinch hitter and doubled down the right field line to score Cardenas.

With Fullerton trailing 4-1, Cope then singled to right field to put runners at the corners. Then Prescott came through with his three-run bomb that soared over the right field bleachers to tie things up at 4-4. In fact five consecutive Titans reached base with two outs in the inning.

Unfortunately, a costly Titan error allowed the Beavers to score two more in the bottom of the sixth, as they retook the lead at 6-4.

The Titans had a golden opportunity in the eighth, as they loaded the bases, but they weren't able to cash in.

Fullerton will go for the series win, tomorrow at noon PT.
