FULLERTON, Calif. – The game may not go in the official record books, but the Titans certainly got the winning feeling back, as they cruised to a 6-3 victory over the alumni squad, Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Field.

Over 40 former Cal State Fullerton greats made their way to Goodwin Field to compete in the annual Alumni Game, including major leaguers Chad Wallach, Chris Devenski and Matt Chapman.

After dropping last year's game in heartbreaking fashion, the Titans redeemed themselves with a convincing win on Saturday.

Titan newcomer Andrew Quezada put together a spectacular performance in the start for Fullerton. He tossed 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball, while surrendering just three hits and fanning five, while earning the win for the Titans.

"It was so great to put on that Titan uniform for the first time, "said Quezada. "The entire experience was fantastic. I felt good out there and it was cool to see how much support this program has."

Chris Prescott led the way offensively for the Titans, going 3-of-3 from the plate, while scoring a run and recording an RBI. Newcomer Ryan Williams, also had himself a day, putting together a 2-for-2 day at the plate, while scoring two runs and launching a double.

Brett Borgogno also picked up a couple of knocks and scored a run on the day, while Ruben Cardenas and Mitchell Berryhill each drove in a run and recorded a hit. Six different Titans recorded a knock on the day.

Landon Anderson was solid out of the bullpen, surrendering four hits and one run in two innings pitched. Dillon Brown also pitched an inning, while surrendering two hits and a run.

Finally, Brett Conine picked up right where he left off last year, coming in to close things out in the ninth, while surrendering just a single hit.

The game was scoreless through 5.5 innings, but Fullerton struck for one in the sixth to take a 1-0 lead over the alumni squad.

The alumni came back with one in the seventh to tie things up at 1-1, but the Titans took control in their bottom of the seventh, scoring three runs to take a 4-1 lead.

Fullerton brought across two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to top off the 6-3 victory.

The Titans will open up the 2018 campaign on February 18th at Stanford.
