FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton baseball team will get its first chance to showcase its 2018 squad, as it'll play its lone fall contest of the season against UNLV, Saturday at noon out at Goodwin Field.
Fullerton welcome back five starters from last year's squad that made a magical run all the way to the College World Series, marking the program's 18th trip to Omaha and the second in the last three seasons under Head Coach Rick Vanderhook.
The Titans welcome in 17 newcomers and look to rely on yet another strong recruiting class to mesh with a healthy group of overall returners, as they look to make their push towards their 27th consecutive postseason appearance.
Last year, the Titans traveled to Las Vegas to face off with the Rebels in what was the team's first road test of the year. Fullerton dropped the Friday night contest, but came back to win each of the next two games 4-1 and 5-0 respectively to take the series.
Admission to Saturday's game is free.
