All-Session tickets will go on sale today (Thursday) at 2 pm PT. They can be purchased online through LongBeachState.com or in person at the Long Beach State Ticket Office. A limited number of tickets is available.
INDIANAPOLIS – Cal State Fullerton will take on Big West rival Long Beach State, in what will be the Titans' 13th trip to the Super Regional round this weekend at Blair Field. Game one will be Friday at 3 pm PT and televised on ESPN2. Game two will be Saturday at noon and televised on ESPNU, while Sunday's if necessary contest will also be at noon and televised on ESPNU.
The Titans (37-21) enter Super Regional play after going a perfect 3-0 up in Northern California to claim the Stanford Regional crown. Fullerton claimed a 13-2 win over BYU in the regional opener and 4-1 and 4-1 over the host Cardinal to win the title.
For Long Beach State (41-18-1), it managed to bounce back from the loser's bracket to come back and win the Long Beach Regional. The 49ers earned a 6-0 win over San Diego State in the regional's opening round before dropping a 5-3 heartbreaker to Texas in 12 innings. LBSU then bounced back to earn three consecutive wins to win the regional, taking down SDSU again 7-4 and then earning back-to-back wins over Texas, 4-3 and 2-1 respectively.
Fullerton and Long Beach met six times during the regular season, with the 49ers claiming five of the six wins. However, two games went to extra innings and three contests were decided by one run.
