Collegiate Baseball Release

TUCSON, Ariz. - Cal State Fullerton right-hander Colton Eastman was named to the Louisville Slugger All-American team, Collegiate Baseball announced Thursday.

Eastman earned a spot on the Louisville Slugger Third-Team after an outstanding freshman campaign for the Fresno, Calif. native. He was one of two players from the Big West selected to the Louisville Slugger All-American team. He also became the first freshman since Thomas Eshelman and Justin Garza in 2013 to earn a non-freshman focused All-American nod.

The Titans Sunday starter for most of the season, Eastman led the team with eight wins on the season. He was 8-2 in 14 starts and posted a team-best 2.11 ERA in 94 innings pitched. He has 93 strikeouts so far, seven shy of the all-time Fullerton freshman record set by Noe Ramirez in 2009.

Eastman allowed batters to hit just .211 against him during the season and earned two Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week awards, including the final one of the season after scoring a win over Long Beach State in the regular season finale. Eastman allowed just one run and went a career-high eight and 1/3 innings. He retired nine straight at one point and allowed just one base runner through the first six innings.

In conference play, Eastman went undefeated as he posted a 4-0 record in seven starts. He had a 2.28 ERA in 47 and 1/3 innings pitched in Big West play and had 48 strikeouts.
