FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton scored its fourth straight victory with a 4-2 nonconference win over San Diego Tuesday night at Goodwin Field.

The Titans (17-11) got two more hits from Dalton Blaser, who extended his hitting streak to nine games Tuesday against the Toreros (16-15).

Blaser drove in a run and also scored while Tyler Stieb, Tanner Pinkston, Josh Vargas and Chris Hudgins all tallied hits for Fullerton.

Freshman Blake Workman picked up his first career win for the Titans, going two innings in relief and allowing one home run. He struck out two.

Dylan Prohoroff picked up his second save, striking out James Bonds and getting Jeff Houghtby to ground out to second with the tying run in scoring position to end the game.

San Diego took a 1-0 lead in the third thanks to three two-out hits. Bryson Brigman started the two-out rally with a single up the middle and then Hunter Mercado-Hood lined a single to right with Brigman going, putting runners at the corners. Riley Adams then punched a single the other way through the right side to bring in Brigman and give the Toreros the lead.

The Titans tied it in their half of the third as Blaser doubled to the wall in right. Pinkston, who walked earlier in the inning, scored from first to make it 1-1.

In the fourth, the Titans took the lead as Stieb singled to shallow left field and then, after a balk on reliever Jacob Hill, Pinkston doubled to left-center to bring in Stieb and give the Titans a 2-1 lead.

It stayed that way until the seventh when Kevin Collard took Titans Workman deep to right-center field for his fifth home run of the season, tying the game 2-2.

The Titans retook the lead for good in their half of the seventh as Blaser started a two-out rally with a double to right. San Diego intentionally walked Vargas but Hudgins chopped a single on the infield and then the runners advanced on a throwing error by the shortstop Brigman, bringing in Blaser to make it 3-2. A passed ball then allowed Vargas to score and give the Titans a 4-2 lead.

Fullerton will now head out on the road for a three-game series at Cal Poly set to begin Friday night at 6 p.m. It will be the Titans first trip for a series since March 2-6 when they played Arizona for a midweek contest followed by a trip to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech.
