Alumni Game Still on for Saturday; First Pitch at 1 PM

FULLERTON, Calif. – Four-time national champion Cal State Fullerton will welcome back its alumni on Saturday with the Titan Alumni game set for a 1 p.m. first pitch at Goodwin Field.

The Alumni will take on the current roster of Titans that will be in their final preparations for the upcoming 2013 season which opens on Friday, Feb. 15 vs. USC at Goodwin Field.

In recent years, 60-75 former players have made the trek back to their stomping grounds for the event, with many of them still populating the major and minor league ranks.

This season, the list of former Titans expected to return includes All-American Gary Brown, former Major League closer Chad Cordero, two-time Big West Conference honoree Blake Davis, 2011 Major League Baseball sixth-round draft pick Jake Floethe, Mark Kotsay of the San Diego Padres, former major leaguer and current Los Angeles Angels broadcaster Jose Mota, Cleveland Indians' Man of the Year Vinny Pestano, San Francisco Giants World Series champion Brett Pill, 2006 Collegiate Baseball National co-Player of the Year Wes Roemer and Justin Turner of the New York Mets. 

The Alumni will be managed by Mike "Toad" Wilson, and DC Olsen (1992-95) will serve as the assistant coach.

Eddie Delzer (1983-84), the winning pitcher from the in 1984 Championship game, will start his 15th consecutive alumni game.

Alumni batting practice will be held from 10:45-11:45 a.m.

The game is free of charge for all Titan fans wishing to attend.
