FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton cross country junior Trinity Ruelas was named Big West Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

 Ruelas earned her first career Big West Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week award thanks to her effort at the Highlander Invite. Ruelas won the women's 6K race at UCR's Ag/Ops Cross Country course with a time of 20:24.49, dominating the field by nearly 12 seconds. The junior's 6K time was the second best time in Fullerton's program history, only 1.09 seconds behind teammate and current title-holder Samantha Huerta. The Titan led her team to a powerful first-place finish as CSF scored just 31 points while keeping their distance from runner-up New Mexico State which had 82 points.

Ruelas and her teammates are in action on Friday at 5 p.m. PT to host the Titan Twilight on campus at the Titan Track Complex.
