CROSS COUNTRY JUNIOR (2015)
Competed in all six events for Cal State Fullerton, totaling four top-40 overall finishes during the season…best Titan finish was third – twice – at the Mustang Challenge (09/19) and the Rim Rock Classic (10/03)…best overall placement was 24th at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 18:35.05 on the 5k course in Riverside, Calif. (10/18)…was the fourth Titan (39th overall) to cross the finish line at the Big West Championship completing the 6k course in a time of 22:15.03 in Riverside (10/31).

JUNIOR COLLEGE
For two seasons ran for head coach Bryan Ramos at Cerritos College in the South Coast Conference…was a two-year all-conference second team selection…named Cerritos’ Newcomer of the Year as a freshman…PR’s include: 5k (18:53), 10k (39:22), 1500-meters (5:03), 3000-meters (10:57).

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2013 graduate of Western High School in Anaheim, Calif…participated in varsity volleyball, cross country and track and field…three times was named track and field Distance Runner of the Year for the Pioneers (2011-13)...named Western’s cross-country MVP as a junior and senior…also earned MVP honors her senior season on the track and field team…received all-league honors during her senior cross-country season and received the Captain’s Award for track and field…was named second team all-Empire League as a junior on the volleyball team…a scholar-athlete her sophomore year. 

PERSONAL
Parents are Jeronimo and Silvia Ruiz…has one sister, Jessica, and one brother, Giancarlo…plans to major in health science...lists her family as her motivation…favorites include: everywhere (places to run), Team USA (athletic team), Brenda Martinez (athlete), Disney movies (movies), The Art of Racing in the Rain (book), bananas (food).
