KIND Movement: Titans Volunteer with Second Harvest Food Bank

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's and women's cross country and track and field teams took a break from preparing for the final stretch of the cross country season, volunteering at the PMA Trade Show at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Cal State Fullerton has teamed up with the KIND Movement, an initiative committed to social entrepreneurship with the intention to surprise others with unexpected acts of kindness. The movement is based on the acts of holistic kindness, with the foundational belief that there's more to business than just profit.

The Titans spent several hours collecting remaining unopened food product from the Fresh Summit PMA Trade Show in anticipation of distributing the goods to the people in need in the community.

"It was a great experience for all of our student-athletes to lend a helping hand with the Second Harvest Food Bank," said head cross country coach John Elders. "The organization and staff was thankful for our participation and we look forward to making special events such as this a focal point in providing aide to our community."

Trade shows like these are a significant source of food procurement for the Second Harvest Food Bank, with the ultimate goal directed toward ending hunger in Orange County.

The Titans will now compete at the Big West Championships hosted by UC Riverside in Riverside, Calif., on Saturday morning. Fullerton will make its second appearance of the season at the Ag/Ops Course after previously participating in the Highlander Invitational on Oct. 18.
