CAREER ACCOLADES
2014 Big West Conference All-Academic Team
CROSS COUNTRY REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2014): Competed in six events, placing in the overall top-30 on five occasions and within the top-three Titan finishers in all six meets…ran a season-best 5K time of 18:14.8 at the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, Calif., on Nov. 1 also finishing a season-best 15th overall and second among CSF runners...posted her best 6K mark of 21:58.0 at the Big West Championships in Riverside, Calif., on Nov. 1, crossing the line in 30th overall and third among Fullerton participants…concluded the season at the NCAA West Regionals in second among CSF entries and 117th overall, logging a time of 22:20.8 in Stanford, Calif., on Nov. 14...named on the Big West Conference All-Academic Team.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2014): Was one of the top distance runners on the team for the Titans during the 2014 outdoor track and field season... ran the 800-meter dash four times during the season with her personal best of 2:14.14 coming at the OXY Invite on May 10... competed in the 1500-meter run eight times and recorded a season-best 4:39.91 to finish in fifth place at the Cal/Nevada Championships... also ran the 3000-meters once this season and won the Riverside CC Meet on March 8 with a time of 10:27.09... posted her highest finish of the season on April 18 at the Bryan Clay Invitational when she finished third with a time of 2:16.07 in the 800-meter dash.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2014): Competed in four events during the 2014 indoor track and field season... in the 800-meter run she placed fifth at the Boise State Team Challenge with a time of 2:19.49... Valdovinos ran a personal best 5:08.58 in the one-mile run on Feb. 7 to break the school record, but her record was broken by teammate Tejera Dial later in the season at the MPSF Championships... was part of the first women's distance medley relay team at Fullerton as she helped the relay squad place eighth with a time of 12:18.89.
CROSS COUNTRY REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2013): Competed in seven events during the season…placed in the overall top-25 in four events…ran a season-best 18:08.1 over the 5K course at the Highlander Invitational on Oct. 19, finishing 16th overall...posted her best finish at the CSUSB Invite on Sept. 28, covering the 6K course in 22:57.0 to finish fourth overall, and second among Fullerton participants…at the Big West Championships, she was sixth among the CSF runners and 48th overall, logging a time of 24:33.1 at the 6K event in San Luis Obispo, Calif., on Nov. 2…concluded the season competing in another 6K event at the NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento, Calif., logging a time of 22:15 while finishing in 164th place overall and fourth among Fullerton participants.
TRACK & FIELD REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013): Competed in 14 events for the Titans during the outdoor and indoor track season...had a team-best time of 5:13.07 for the one-mile run at the Husky Classic in Seattle on February 8-9...in the 800-meter run at the OXY Invitational in Eagle Rock, Calif., on May 4, she finished 15th wit a time of 2:14.74...competed in the 800-meter run six times during the 2013 season...finished second in the 1500-meter event at the Steve Scott Invite in Irvine, Calif., with a time of 4:39.58...competed in the 1500-meter event seven times and never finishing lower than 17th.
CROSS COUNTRY REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2012): Valdovinos competed in one event for the Titans. At the Mark Covert Classic in Brea, Calif. Valdovinos had a time of 20:10.9, finishing 44th overall and helped the Titans add 36 points to finish third for the women's team.
CROSS COUNTRY FRESHMAN (2011): Redshirt season.
COACHELLA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
Ran one year of cross country (2009-10), competed on the track team for two years (2009-11), played three season of soccer (2008-11).
PERSONAL
Parents are David and Catalina... has three siblings: Viridiana, David, and Oscar... kinesiology major... hopes to become a physical therapist... favorites include: Kings Canyon (place to run), Miami Heat (athletic team), Dwayne Wade (athlete), The Notebook, Despicable Me (movies), Drake (musical artist), Sports Illustrated (book), Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams (actor/actress), nutella and Italian (food).
