TRACK & FIELD REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2014):
Competed in seven events for the Titans during the 2014 outdoor
track and field season... ran the 1500 (four times), 3000 (once),
and 5000-meter (twice) during the season... in the 1500-meter run
he had a season-best time of 4:04.97 at the Big West Challenge to
finish 14th... at the UC Riverside Invitational on March 29 he
competed in the 3000-meter run, finishing in 21st with a time of
9:19.93... in the 5000-meter run he set a season-best 15:39.92 to
place 23rd at the Ben Brown Invitational on March 15.
CROSS COUNTRY REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE
(2013): Competed in seven events during the
season…placed in the overall top-25 in three
events…ran a season-best 25:47 over the 8K course at the
Inter-Region Jamboree in Sacramento, Calif., on Oct. 4, finishing
93rd overall...posted his best finish at the Mustang Challenge in
Santa Clarita, Calif., on Sept. 21, covering the 8K course in
26:08.29 to finish 20th overall, and eighth among Fullerton
participants…competed in one 6K event on Oct. 19, finishing
in 32th place with a mark of 18:44.9 at the Highlander
Invitational…at the Big West Championships hosted at the
Fairbanks Memorial X-Country Course in San Luis Obispo, Calif., he
was sixth among the CSF runners and 48th overall, logging a time of
27:55.9 at the 8K event on Nov. 2…concluded the season
competing in a 10K event at the NCAA West Regionals hosted at the
Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, Calif., logging a time of
33:24 while finishing in 153rd place overall and sixth among
Fullerton participants.
ORANGE COAST COLLEGE
Competed one year at Orange Coast College under head
coach Marco Ochoa...set personal bests in the 800m (1:58), 1500m
(4:01), 5k (15:22), and four-mile run (22:21)... made dean's list
during 2012 season.
ARIZONA STATE
Started his collegiate career at Arizona State, but did
not compete during his freshman year...made dean's list in
2011.
EDISON HIGH SCHOOL
Ran two seasons of track and one season of cross country
for the Chargers under head coach Brian Brierly... qualified for
the CIF 800m in 2011... was the 2010 Edison High School track
MVP... was named the ASB Character Coalition Award winner in 2010
and 2011... graduated with honors... set personal best times in the
800m (1:58), 1600m (4:37), 3200m (10:02), and three-mile run
(16:18).

Born in Riverside, Calif... parents are John and Linda
Russell... has one sister, Alyse... majoring in Marketing and
Information Systems... chose Fullerton because of the business
school... favorites include: The Wedge, Huntingtion Beach Pier,
Back Bay (places to run), Anaheim Ducks, Bayern Munich
(athletic teams), Alex Morgan, Tom Brady (athletes), Star
Wars, Boondock Saints, Hot Rod (movies), Linkin Park, The Clash,
Beastie Boys (musical artists), "Harry Potter," "Eragon," "Game of
Thrones," "Lord of the Rings" (books), pop tarts and pizza
(foods).
