Fullerton, Calif. - Head Coach John Elders today announced the winners of the 2011 Cal State Fullerton Track and Field Awards.

Female Track Athlete of the Year - Ciara Short
- Big West Female Track Athlete of the Year (received same honor in 2010)

- Big West Champion in the 400m, 200m & 4x100m

- NCAA 1st Team All-American in the 400m in Outdoor Track & Field

- NCAA 2nd Team All-American in the 400m in Indoor Track & Field

- 1st NCAA Indoor Qualifier in school history

- 5th Place Finish Highest by a Titan in any event -- male or female -- at the NCAA D-I Championships

- Set School Records in the 100m (11.58), 200m (23.28), & 400m (51.85)

- Graduates holding 7 school records in Indoor & Outdoor Track

Male Track Athlete of the Year - Tony Crutchfield

- Highest male Big West finisher for the Titans in a track event (3rd in the 110HH)

- Placed 3rd in the Big West final after qualifying 8th in the Prelims

- PR of 14.75 in the 110HH in the Big West Final

Female Field Athlete of the Year - Ginny English
- 3rd Place in the pole vault at the Big West Championships

- PR of 11 feet, 11.75 inches at the Big West Meet

- Highest Big West finisher for the Lady Titans in a field event

Male Field Athlete of the Year - Danny Savoie
- 2nd in the high jump at the Big West Championships

- PR of 6 feet, 8.75 inches at the Big West Meet

- Highest Big West finisher for the Titans in a field event

- The nicest guy to ever put on a Titan uniform

Coach's Award (Female) - Katie Wilson
- Placed 4th in the 400m at the Big West Championships

- Member of the 1st Conference Championship 4x100m Relay Team in School History

- One of the Top Freshman Track & Field Athletes in the Big West

- Persevered despite dealing with hamstring injury most of the season

Coach's Award (Male) - Jestin Blackmon
- After a promising freshman year placing 7th in the 100m at the Big West Championships, Jestin was saddled with injury after injury. Despite the setbacks he continued to fight back each year. He finished his Titan career by running an outstanding lead-off leg in the 4x100m at the Big West Championships to lead the 8th seeded Titans to a 5th place finish. He also represented the team well in the classroom graduating in 4 years in graphic design which is very difficult to do. Have fun playing soccer, Jestin.

Most Improved (Female) - Danielle Morton
- She Improved Her Javelin from 118 feet, 6 inches while at OCC to 133 feet, 4 inches this season

- She started the season barely throwing over 100 feet but finished the season placing 4th at the Big West Championships

Most Improved (Male) - Javon May
- After failing to make the final in the 400m IH last year, he placed 6th in the Big West Championships this year

- Improved his time from 53.86 in 2010 to 52.74 in 2011

- Also improved his 110HH time from 15.51 to 15.27
