June 8, 2007

Sacramento, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton senior Jordan Horn (Alta Loma HS, Alta Loma) finished 15th late Thursday night in the men's 10,000 meter race at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, missing All-America status by two places.

Horn covered the distance in 29:29.48, about 10 seconds behind the 13th place finisher. The top eight American citizens earn All-America honors. The winner of the race was Shadrack Songok of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 28:55.83.

"Jordan ran with the lead pack until the final four laps," said Head Coach John Elders. "When the pace picked up he had a lot of energy but his hamstrings tightened up and just wouldn't let him go.

"He ran a smart race. It was a gutsy effort on his part. He's a little disappointed, but he ran a solid race."
