Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton sprinter Morgan Thompson has been selected Women's Freshman of the Year for 2012 in voting by the Big West Conference track and field coaches.

The product of Newbury Park High School anchored the victorious 4x100 relay team and finished second in the 200 meters and third in the 400. She is the first Titan to win this honor.

Five different schools shared in the top individual honors for track, field, freshman and coach of the year laurels.
