Los Angeles, Calif. - Walter Whitaker place second overall in the triple jump and Titans Charles Michinock and Gavin Couvrey-Jacobs won the two flights of the men's 400 meter hurdles Thursday to highlight Cal State Fullerton's performance at the Cal State Los Angeles Twilight Open Track and Field Meet.
Whitaker jumped 46 feet, 6 inches in the triple jump and also placed fifth in the long jump. Michinock won flight No. 1 in 54.98 while Couvrey-Jacobs took the second flight in 55.75.
Other top flight finishes: Taylor Ros (50.42) and Jourdan Hilaire (52.49) won flights in the men's 400; Brandon Cook was second in the 1500 meters in 4:00.41 and Melissa Kelly was second in a women's 400 race in 1:04.11.
Katie Wilson, Ashley Sims, Morgan Thompson, Grace Gonzales, Casey Candelaria, Bryan Luther and Javon May compete Friday at the Mt. Sac Relays.
