Short Breaks Her Own School Record in the 100

Walnut, Calif. - Ciara Short set a school record in the 100 meters and four other Titans posted seasonal and/or personal bests Friday at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays, which feature about 5,000 competitors when all divisions are included.

Short won the 100 in 11.58 to better her old mark of 11.66 set last season.

Ginny English tied for eighth in the women's pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 10 3/4 inches, which matches her career best set last year at the Big West Conference Championships. She narrowly missed at 12 feet, 3 inches.

Lauren Williams ran a yearly best of 24.82 in the women's 200 meters. Freshman Katie Wilson notched her best career time in the 400 at 55.49 to finish 21st.

Javon May beat his personal best by about 2 seconds with a time of 52.95, good enough for 11th in the men's 400 meter hurdles.

Still running late tonight (11 p.m.) in the respective 5000 meter races are Grace Gonzales, Lauren McIntyre, John Carrell and Tyler Reed.

Short runs tomorrow in the women's Olympic Development 200 meters and Williams runs in her specialty, the woen's 100 meter hurdles.
