Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton hurdler Lauren Williams today was selected the Big West Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week for her performance in Friday's Big West Challenge on the Titan Track.
Williams won the 100 and 400 meter hurdles. Her mark of 13.77 in the 100 is the best in the Big West this season, tenth in the West Region and 43rd nationally. She won the 400 in 1:04.l3.
The sophomore from Chino Hills claimed the Titans' fifth weekly award of the season. Sprinter Ciara Short has been honored twice by the Big West coaches as track athlete of the week and long jumper Garrett Myers and high jumper Johnathan Golden have been singled out as male field athletes of the week.
Fullerton competes this weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Long Beach Invitational.
