Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton junior sprinter Ciara Short has been selected Big West Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

The San Diego product (Madison HS) swept two sprints last Friday at the 18th Annual Big West Challenge at UC Irvine and also was the lead runner on two victorious relay teams. Her winning times were 23.98 in the 200 and 53.45 in the 400. The Titans' 4x100 relay team set a meet record with a time of 45.85 and they also won the 4x400.

Short previously was honored on March 17 and March 24. The other honorees this week were Alex Wilright of UC Davis for men's track, Rajan Bains of Long Beach State for men's field and Lauren Reid of UC Riverside for women's field.
