Golden, Pratter Earn Big West Accolades

Irvine, Calif. - High jumper Jonathan Golden and sprinter Jon Pratter each have earned athlete of the week honors from the Big West Conference for their performances for Cal State Fullerton over the weekend at the Cal-Nevada Championships in Fresno.

Golden won the high jump with a mark of 7 feet, 2 1/2 inches to earn field athlete of the week acclaim. That's the best mark in the Big West and the West Region this season as well as the third best in the nation to date.

Pratter shared track athlete of the week honors with Phillip Reid of Cal Poly and Brent Gray of Long Beach State. Pratter was third in the 100 meters at 10.57, second in the 200 meters and ran the leadoff leg for the victorious 4x400 meter relay team.

Fullerton competes this weekend in the Big West Challenge at UC Santa Barbara.
