Lauren Williams in the 100 meter hurdles and Ciara Short in the 400 meters were the Cal State Fullerton winners Sunday in the Cal-Neva Track and Field Championships at Claremont College.
Williams won the finals in 13.70, .09 better than her qualifying mark. Short won her final in 53.18 after topping the qualifiers with a mark of 54.80. Short also finished second in the 200 at 23.72, losing to UC San Diego's Kelly Fogarty in 23.63. Short had qualified at 23.52, eding Fogarty's 23.56.
Other Titan finalists on Sunday were Jayson Perez, ninth in the 1500 meters in 3:57.85; Tony Crutchfield, seventh in the 110 high hurdles at 15.02; Javon May, seventh in the 400 low hurdles at 53.67; Andrew Sullivan seventh in the pole vault at 15 feet, 11 inches; and the 4x100 relay teams -- the women in third place at 46.64 and the men seventh in 42.42.
In team standings, the Fullerton women were tenth among 23 schools and the men were 15th among 22 teams.
Most of the Titans have Spring Break week off from competition with a few individuals headed for the Florida Relays in Gainesville.
