Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton junior sprinter Ciara Short has been selected the Big West Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Northridge Invitational last weekened by a vote of the head coaches.

Short (San Diego / Madison HS) won the 200 meters in 24.18, almost a third of a second ahead of runnerup Samantha Bogatz of Glendale College. Short also placed third in the 100 in 12.03.

Carl Dargitz of Cal Poly was chosed male track athlete of the week and the field awards went to Jasmine Pickett of Cal Poly and Derek Cooper of Cal State Northridge.

The Titans compete this weekend at the Trojan Invitational at USC.
