Golden in High Jump, Short in Sprints Lead CSF

San Diego, Calif. - Johnathan Golden cleared 7 feet, 1 inch to win the invitational high jump and Ciara Short doubled in the women's invitational 200 and 400 to highlight Cal State Fullerton's efforts at the Aztec Track and Field Classic over the weekend at San Diego State.

Golden cleared 2.21 meters on his third attempt after failing on only one attempt at his first three heights. Short won the 200 by more than a second at 24.07 and she had a two-second margin at 55.14 in the 400, both times besting Chelsey Allen of Southern Utah.

The Titans' also picked up victories in both the men's and women's 4x100 meter relays and from Ryan Simioni in the men's invitational pole vault at 15 feet, 5 ¾ inches. Runnerup performances came from Franklin Robinson in the invitational hammer throw at 169 feet, 7 inches; Jameena Hunt in the women's invitational shot put at 45 feet, 1/4 inch; David Spates in the men's invitational shot put at 50 feet, 6 3/4 inches; LeRon Brown in the men's invitational long jump at 23 feet and Nathan Skankey in the men's invitational pole vault at 15 feet.
