College Station, TX - Cal State Fullerton senior Ciara Short ran ninth Friday and missed qualifying by one spot or 5/100ths of a second for the finals of the 400 meters at the NCAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships at Texas A&M.

Short's time was a school record 53.11. The eighth and final spot in the finals went to Diamond Dixon of Kansas, who ran 53.06.

For her efforts, Short earns second-team All-American honors.

Short is the first Cal State Fullerton athlete to compete in the Indoor Championship Meet.
