Fayetteville, AR - Senior Ciara Short will become the first Cal State Fullerton participant in an NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship when she competes this weekend at Texas A&M in College Station.

Short learned Monday that she is the 16th qualifier in a field of 16 in the 400 meters. Her qualifying time is her latest school record of 53.34.

Short is a product of Madison High School in San Diego. She is the defending Big West Conference champion in the outdoor 200 and 400 meter races. She was selected the Big West Female Track Athlete of the Year for 2010.
