Pole Vaulters to Jump in Campus Quad

March 2, 2006

Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's track and field team will present its second annual "Pole Vault in the Plaza" on Tuesday, March 7, at noon in the campus quad.

There is no admission charge to watch the Titans' male and female pole vaulters perform for an hour on a portable runway and landing pit to bring attention to the upcoming Ben Brown Invitational, "hosted" on Saturday by the Titans at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.

Titan pole vaulters for 2006 are freshman Patrick Garcia from Whittier, sophomore Matt Kirsten from Mission Viejo, sophomore Andrew Little from Torrance, freshman Kelly MacLean from Huntington Beach, sophomore Dalya Taman from Walnut and senior BJ Vandrovec from Huntington Beach. Taman recently became the first Titan female to clear 12 feet indoors.

The Ben Brown meet normally is held on the Titan Track but a renovation process has begun to bring it back to Div. I collegiate standards. Mt. SAC, located about 15 miles to the north, has a world-class facility.
