Albuquerque, NM - Lauren Williams placed second in the 60 meter hurdles and Cal State Fullerton teammate Ciara Short set a school record while running fourth in the 400 and sixth in the 200 meter races at the New Mexico Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet Friday and Saturday in the Albququerque Convention Center.

Williams qualified in a time of 8.68 and ran 8.59 in the finals to trail only Indira Spence of Adams State in 8.32. Williams also ran in the 60 meter dash but failed to qualify with a time of 7.88, good for 14th place.

Short ran the 400 in school record time of 54.66 (old mark 55.40 by Short) and the 200 in 24.26, just off her school standard of 24.10.

The Titans compete next at the NAU Team Challenge Saturday in Flagstaff, Arizona.
