Fayetteville, AR - Men's triple jumper Garrett Myers is the fourth and final hope for Cal State Fullerton to advance a Titan into the final rounds of the NCAA Track and Field Championships. Myers is the last seed and competes Friday afternoon.
High jumper Johnathan Golden, women's discus thrower Jameena Hunt and hurdler Lauren Williams were eliminated in the preliminaries of the rain-soaked competition which has seen several weather delays.
Golden cleared 6-foot-8, 3/4 inches on his third attempt but failed to clear 6-foot-10, 3/4 inches as 15 competitors did Wednesday to advance to Friday's finals.
Hunt threw the discus 155-feet, 11 inches, Thursday to place 20th in her event. She made the mark with her first attempt and then fouled twice.
Williams ran sixth Thursday in one of four 100 meter hurdles heats in 13.97. The top three in each heat and then the next six best times advanced. She placed 24th overall.
