Santa Barbara, Calif. - Seniors Jordan Horn and Scott Hutchison and freshman Jameena Hunt continued the assault on the Cal State Fullerton track and field record book Friday as they led the Titans to a second-place showing by the men and a third-place effort for the women at the Big West Conference Challenge at UC Santa Barbara.

Horn won both the 1500 and 3000 meter runs, the latter in a school record time of 8:17.13 and the former in a personal best of 3:52.11.

Hunt bested the school record again in the discus with a mark of 149 feet, 8 inches and then beat her personal best by 10 feet in the hamme throw with a toss of 144 feet, 6 inches.

Hutchison set a school record in the hammer with a mark of 189 feet, 9 inches.

Other women's highlights:

Kandace Wilson and Kimiah Hudson ran one-two in the women's 400 meters; Dinah Clark won the 100 hurdles in 14.22; the 4x100 relay team ran its second fastest time of the year at 46.00; Antonia Vega ran second in both the 100 and 200; Gail Munoz had a personal best by 7 seconds in the 1500 meters at 4:41 and Amanda Eichman ran a personal best 11:14.68 in the steeplechase.

Other men's highlights:

Even without Marques Barosso, the men won the 4x100 relay in 40.61; Chris Epstein ran a Big West best this season of 47.40 to win the 400; Nathan Skankey won the pole vault at 15 feet, 7 inches; Garrett Myers won the triple jump at 48 feet, 11 1/2 inches; and Roberto Archibold used a lean at the tape to win the 400 hurdles by .06 at 52.71.

"This meet really brings out the best in everyone," said Titans' Head Coach John Elders. "It was a good meet for us. We were a little short on the men's team and UCSB had a great meet to beat us.

"It was a great meet for the women with a lot of personal bests. They keep getting better each week."
