Kayla Kovar of Southern Utah and Bob Belden of Cornell each doubled in the shot put and the discus and sprinters Shaye Maurer of Southern Utah and Rashaad Johnson of Perpetual Motion also doubled to highlight the Twilight Open Track and Field Meet Friday evening at Cal State Fullerton.
The host Titans, who compete this weekend in the Cal-Neva Championships in Claremont, entered only a handful of competitors and came away with a best of a third-place tie for Shawn McNany in the men's pole vault. Eric Grunbaum was sixth in the men's hammer and Amber Scott was sixth in the women's 400 meters.
Kovar won the shot at 47 feet, 8 inches and the discus at 142-8. Belden went 53-3 in the shot and 159-3 in the discus. Maurer won the 100 in 12.11 and the 100 hurdles in 14.01. Johnson won the 200 in 21.93 and the 400 in 48.50.
McNany cleared 14-7 ΒΌ while Grunbaum tossed the hammer 161-1.
