Position: Assistant Coach (4th Season)

Brandon Campbell, a Cal State Fullerton alum, former Titan dual athlete, and assistant track and field coach, has been hired as an assistant track and field coach at Fullerton effective immediately, Titans' head coach John Elders announced Friday, April 12, 2013.

Campbell served as an assistant coach under Elders from 2006-09 before taking the same position at Adams State from 2009-13.

"I was extremely disappointed to lose him four years ago, but in the end it worked out for the best because he was able to grow as a coach and a leader," Elders said. "To have him back now is super exciting, as he'll have a positive impact on this program right away.

"It's personally really gratifying for me to hire him as an alum of this program because he is a Titan through and through."

During his time at Adams State, he guided the men's program to its first-ever outdoor track & field national championship in the spring of 2012.

Under his tutelage, the Adams State women earned a third place finish at the 2012 NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships and at one point claimed the top spot in the USTFCCCA rankings during the season.

During Campbell's time at ASU, Grizzly sprinters earned 45 all-American accolades and broke 35 school records.

During his first stint as a Titans' assistant coach, Campbell helped coach Big West individual champions Johnathan Golden (high jump 2008), Garrett Myers (triple jump 2008) and Laron Brown (high jump 2009). All three were also NCAA qualifiers.

As a student-athlete at Cal State Fullerton, Campbell ran track and field and played basketball for the Titans. He earned All-American honors in the high jump in 2002 and qualified for the NCAA championships in both the long and high jump in 2001 and 2002. He was also a two-time Big West Conference champion in the long jump (1999 and 2001) and high jump (2001 and 2002) and was a member of the two championship 4X400 meter relay teams (2000 and 2001).

While with the Titan basketball program, he averaged 8.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest in 84 career contests while battling a foot injury.

Campbell graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2005 with a B.S. in sociology.
