Aguilar In Second Through Day One of Conference Multi Championships

FULLERTON, Calif. — Andrew Aguilar finished day one of The Big West Multi Championships in second place Friday, garnering a total of 3786 points through five events in the men's decathlon. Aguilar enters day two Saturday just 149 behind UC Santa Barbara's Brad Thomas. 

Aguilar started the day off by placing second in the men's 100m, clocking a personal-best time of 11.09. He finished just four one-hundredths of a second behind UC Irvine's Max Daniels. Next was the long jump, where Aguilar placed third with a mark of 6.92m. 

In the third event of the day, the shot put, Aguilar placed third once again with a mark of 12.39m. He then took fifth place in the high jump, clearing a personal-best mark of 1.84m. Aguilar saved his best finish of the day for last, winning the 400m with a time of 49.04. 

Aguilar looks to defend his conference title tomorrow, Saturday, May 6th, in the conclusion of The Big West Multi Championships.
