Trio of Titans Earn Individual Wins at Steve Scott Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. — Hawkin Miller, Dominic Gates and Reyte Rash each recorded individual event wins Saturday on day two of the Steve Scott Invitational. 

Hawkin Miller won the men's shot put with a mark of 17.51m, which is the second furthest in The Big West this season. Reyte Rash won gold in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 52.76. Rash previously set the school record of 51.41 earlier this season at the Ben Brown Invite. Dominic Gates also won gold in the men's 100m, clocking a time of 10.43, the fifth fastest in the conference this season. 

Several additional Titans earned podium finishes on the day, including Abel Jordan, who took second in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.12. Carter Birade took fourth in the event with a time of 14.39. Justin Lowe earned bronze in the men's 400m, clocking a time of 48.08. Isaiah Emerson followed in fourth with a 48.23 and Chris Goode took fifth with a time of 48.45. 

Matt Cohen followed Rash in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 54.66. Matthew Uballe took fourth after finishing with a time of 55.00. In the men's 200m, Naythn Scruggs clocked a 21.22 to earn third place. Gates followed in fourth with a 21.31. 

In the women's pole vault, Ashley Harritt cleared a mark of 3.81m to earn second place. Erika Flaherty placed sixth in the event with a mark of 3.51m. London Lee took fifth in the women's triple jump, posting a mark of 11.60m. 

In the women's shot put, Evalen Garcia earned a fourth-place finish with a mark of 14.26m. Trinity Barnett finished fifth in the women's 200m with a time of 24.32 and seventh in the women's 100m with an 11.91. Alero Soaris earned a sixth place finish in the women's 400m, running a 56.38. 

Jeremiah Castellano was the Titans' top finisher in the men's 800m, finishing sixth after running a 1:52.24. Olivia Ruiz finished 11th to lead the Titans in the women's 800m, running a 2:13.64. 

Up next on the schedule is The Big West Multi Championships, which will take place at home in Fullerton next weekend, May 5-6.
