FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans Track & Field program enjoyed a special day Saturday, February 25th, and set a record for funds raised, more than doubling the previous record.

"It was a groundbreaking day for Cal State Fullerton Track & Field," said head coach Marques Barosso. "The student-athletes' success over the last few years, along with this level of funding will continue to propel us forward. Now, more than ever, it is a priority to grow this program so we can compete with the power 5 schools."

Despite the rain, the fundraiser began in the afternoon with more than 150 people in attendance. Many former Titans, current team members, families, and supporters of the program enjoyed food, beverages, and time to bid on auction items while mingling. The event was highlighted by a spirited live auction and an inspiring address from Titans alumna Ciara Short. Through the generosity of those who gave in support of the program, more than $75,000 was raised for Titans Track & Field.

"Our record-breaking Sprint into Spring Fundraiser was a celebration of our Titans family," Coach Barosso said. "I'd like to extend a special thank you to President Fram Virjee, Dr. Tonantzin Oseguera, Jim Donovan, and Ciara Short for their remarks and support of this program. I am grateful to our table sponsors, alumni, and each individual who donated to our team, attended the event, and contributed an item for auction."
