Bibbs Breaks School Record at Fresno State Invite

FRESNO, CALIF. – Floriolli ran a new Big West Conference leading time of 20.84 (+2.3) but it was Cooper Bibbs who took down the school record after posting a wind legal time of 20.90 (+1.6) in the third section of the men's 200m dash. Cooper's time breaks a six-year-old record previously held by two former Titans, Thaddeus Smith (20.92; +1.3) and Mason Rollins (20,92; -0.5). Floriolli's time becomes the fastest in the Big West Conference this season and number nine in the West Region.

The dynamic duo started their day of competition off by clocking in the two fastest wind legal times in the men's 100m dash to finish first and second overall. Floriolli (10.37) and Bibbs (10.38) remain the conference leaders and both rank Top 12 in the NCAATF West Region for both the 100m and 200m dash.

Sela Pastrana jumped 12.54m (41'3") to finish third in the women's triple jump. Christian Wood finished fourth in the men's long jump after a leap of 7.54m (24'9") and seventh in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.91m (45'7.75"). Wood rounded out his day by tying his season's best of 10.75 in the men's 100m dash to finish ninth overall.

The men's 4x100 relay team was made up of Rasaun House, Cooper Bibbs, Nathyn Scruggs, and Alonzo Floriolli; the four would combine to run a time of 40.21 to win the event.

Mariah Stewart ran a new season's best of 14.10 (+1.2) in the women's 100mH to finish eleventh overall and move up to number five on the Big West Conference performance list and number sixth on the Titans All-Time list.

Matt Cohen ran a new lifetime best of 52.41 in the 400mH to finish fifth overall and move up to number eight on the Titans All-Time list. Cohen also ran 14.62 to finish sixth overall in the men's 110H while Charles Kelly ran 14.14 (+1.3) in the men's 110H to finish third overall.

Justin Lowe ran 47.38 to finish second overall in the men's 400m dash and 21.16 to finish sixth overall in the men's 200m dash.

At the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California, several Titans ran new lifetime best in the women's 5000m. Maria Hernandez led the way for the Titans, as she ran a new lifetime best of 17:16.43, six seconds faster than two weeks prior at the Bryan Clay Invitational, to finish seventh overall. Amy Brown ran a new personal best of over 45 seconds after the crossing the line in 17:29.15 to finish 10th overall. Sally Silengo (17:46.48), Sarah Jamil (17:49.11), and Emily Olson (17:52.21) all set new personal best to finish in the top 20 in the women's 5000m. The Cal State Fullerton Women's 5000m squad now ranks as the #13 squad in the USTFCCCA. Meanwhile, on the men's side, Bobby Brana ran 14:48 to finish seventh overall in the men's 5000m and Jeremiah Castellano ran 1:52.27 to finish sixth overall in the men's 800m.

Evalen Garcia threw 14.03m (46'0.50") to take second in the women's shotput. Keely Togafu finished fifth overall after a toss of 13.30m (43'7.75"). Kyliegh Wilkerson threw a new lifetime best of 46.47m (152'5") in the women's discus. Wilkerson's throw moves her up to number four on the Titans All-Time list.

The Titans will be back in action next Friday to host the Titan Tune-Up at the Titans Track & Field in Fullerton Calif. while the 2022 Big West Championship's ­begins for the Heptathlon and Decathlon in Davis, California.
